In TEIMAS, a company specialized in the digitization of the waste value chain, we are looking for a manager for our Technology department. This position interests you if you have experience between 5 and 7 years in tasks related to management in the technological development of our own products and people management.

About us

We were born in 2008 with the main premise of protecting the environment and people's health through technology. This is how we have managed to build digital solutions, such as Teixo and Zero, that simplify waste control, facilitate regulatory compliance and drive sustainable business. We work with all actors in the waste chain: from small and medium-sized waste management companies to large corporations with national and international presence.

Our offices are located in Santiago de Compostela.

About the position

You will work hand in hand with our CEO. You will manage a technical team of 20 people, consisting of a controller, technical managers and a specialized technical team.

Your mission will be to lead the team to reach the objectives formulated by the management, using the right approach and in line with the strategic plan in force in the company, always with the aim of responding to the sale of our software solutions, providing value to our customers and maintaining high quality standards.

Therefore, your day-to-day life could be summarized in people, procedures and products.

In order to reach your objectives, your main functions will be:

  • Define and manage your own budget. Budgetary control of the resources used, including the selection, hiring, monitoring and follow-up of subcontractors.
  • Define, together with the controller, the indicators (KPIs) to ensure management success.
  • Monitor defined KPIs to evaluate department performance and propose and execute appropriate changes.
  • Unification of development aspects (code conventions, documentation, security, performance, monitoring, fault tolerance, etc.) ensuring product viability and sustainability.
  • Design a technical debt reduction plan.
  • Collaborate with the TEIMAS management team in the definition of the business strategy.
  • Define tactical plans to meet the company's strategic plans and objectives (land on concrete tasks).
  • Constantly make executive decisions due to the changing context of our industry.
  • Report weekly on technology strategy to management.
  • Attend and coordinate meetings with other departments to ensure the viability of our products and try to stop possible bottlenecks within your department.
  • Facilitate communication and workflow between sections within the department (N2, development, QA, Infrastructure, innovation).
  • Work together with People and Culture in the development and implementation of tools to help people improve in their daily lives.
  • With the support of People and Culture, describe the objectives of each person within the department, assessing their potential and defining their training and career plan for subsequent follow-up.
  • Encourage training in various types of technologies and the team's critical spirit regarding historical and customary decisions.
  • Maintain a work philosophy in the department focused on our customers, ensuring the commitments acquired and the sustainability of the products.
  • Represent TEIMAS in forums, events and associations.
  • Other tasks involved in a management position.

The fundamental requirements that we will measure in the interview:

  • Previous experience in management positions.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge and technical mastery of the technological field. With programming knowledge, not necessarily in our language ruby and rails.
  • Good knowledge of the industry, but with the mentality to learn on a daily basis.
  • Curiosity to keep abreast of developments in the industry
  • Strategic thinking based on experience and knowledge.
  • Understanding of the life cycle of a software product. Developed commercial skills, to be able to integrate the technology department in the final objective of the company, the commercialization of the products.
  • Experience in working together with other managers and with clients.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies and good development practices.
  • Computer Engineering or related field.
