In a report for the weekly economy magazine of El Mundo, our CEO Miguel Varela Miguel Varela shared his views on the latest technology fairs for entrepreneurs in Spain.

Every year dozens of startup fairs are held in Spain (such as South Summit DES, EU-Startups, 4YFN, Alhambra Venture or, soon, Startup Olé), aimed at networking, looking for investors and talking about business ideas.

The newspaper El Mundo wanted to know the real impact of this type of events, seen from the point of view of six entrepreneurs. Among them, Miguel Varela, founding partner and CEO of TEIMAS.

As a Galician technology company born in 2008, today we focus on software solutions for efficient waste management and in favor of circular economy. For this we use SaaS (software as a service) technology, which is why TEIMAS has chosen to participate in SaasStr, a congress of software services and B2B business, just released in June 2022 in Barcelona.

In an interview with the weekly economy magazine of El Mundo, Miguel Varela (CEO of TEIMAS) shared his vision of this fair, indicating that it is "an international event" with "many high-level talks, especially those related to business scaling". For early stage startups he also recommends "attending the Seed Rocket Campus, which includes a week of training with top level speakers and a final event where the startups pitch to a large group of investors".

Regarding the mechanics of these fairs, he believes that they should "avoid selling smoke and focus on providing value to entrepreneurs, either through contacts or knowledge" to help them move forward in this "risky activity".
